Otonom Teknoloji has brought its “MiniSteer, unmanned and autonomous system control unit” to the market. Being a system-on-chip solution, MiniSteer has been designed flexible to meet the platform needs of both civillian and military systems. MiniSteer has two ARM processors and an FPGA which makes real-time conrol of unmanned and autonomous systems possible. In addition, common platform functions such as data processing and digital communications are realized with low power consumption.
The control unit can be utilized for a wide variety of platforms due to its various interface support, GPIO reserves that can be altered according to custom needs, integrated INS/GPS, additional card and connector slots. The hardware unit is produced in line with the IP67 standard.
Işıl Kolağasıoğlu, Otonom Teknoloji Deputy General Manager, responsible for Programs, said “With its rich I/O and FPGA supported hardware architecutre, MiniSteer is a very effective solution for different unmanned and autonomous systems. Currently, for command and control of our company’s other unmanned systems, MiniSteer works really great in terms of low power consumption and high computational performance. In addition, it integrates very well with the operator control unit which enables to have cost effective solutions for remote monitoring and control problems”.
The unit controls the navigation of “Tepegöz, Solar-Powered Unmanned Airship” developed by Otonom Teknoloji, as well as provides the platform power management, data processing and digital communication functionality.
MiniSteer, as a generic control unit, can be utilized in a wide variety of unmanned and autonomous platforms. Examples to major areas of use are;
Among Otonom Teknoloji’s other projects are “Solar-powered autonomous airship platform, TepeGöz”, “Aerostat System, Doruk”, “Compact sphereoid aerostat system, Dolunay” and “Ground control station” for unmanned vehicles.
